Okay, I really need to get this out...
Why does it matter so much what a person's preference is? I understand if it's different to you, but is there any reason you should send hate to a person about it? They are still human. They do have feelings. Just because they might be bisexual, lesbian, gay, or even transgender doesn't all of a sudden make them a bad person. What they're doing or feeling isn't illegal. Those are their feelings. I'm tired of all those stereotypes people have about homosexuals. No. Not all gay/bi men act feminine, and not all lesbian/bi girls act like some badass sports enthusiast. Some of them may act like that, yes, but I'm close with a few straight guys and girls who act the same exact way. Does that make them gay/bi/les? No. It means it's a part of who they are. And I do have a few friends who are gay/les/bi, and you know what? Those are my closest friends, and I accept them for who they are. One of my closest guy friends is constantly tormented for being gay, and I'm so proud of him because he never lets it get to him. He goes along like it's nothing, and I can talk to him about almost anything. Hell, he even watched Magic Mike with me and fangirled harder when Channing Tatum made a mess of that floor's innocence. And I would never change him. Also, my cousin (who was always like an older sister to me) came out a few years ago as a lesbian. Even though we rarely talk now (she's busy with college), I still love talking to her, and it's not like she's changed or is a different person. She's still my fun-loving, crazy cousin. I've even met some of her girlfriends and still keep in touch with one of her exes. My aunt even came out as bi, and I still love her for who she is. Just because a person's preference is different doesn't make them a horrible person. They're still human and they still have feelings.
Another thing I want to address is to stop spreading rumors about people, whether they have those feelings or not. At my school, I've had rumors started about me being bi/les, and I've never had those feelings for girls in my life. I don't even have girl crushes, I only look up to a few of them as my idols. But it hurts. Just the idea of people starting things and talking about you behind your back hurts. It's like all rumors. Words hurt. And if someone does have those feelings, then good for them. More power to them. I will stand behind you 100% of the way. But don't start making claims of someone being homosexual until they themselves have confirmed it. They may never do it, and that doesn't matter. When they're ready, they're ready. If they're confused, they're confused. Don't pressure them or tell them things when they don't even know.
I guess what I'm trying to say is please leave people alone. Stop starting rumors. Stop spreading shit about people. If someone does have those feelings, then you have two options: leave them alone or stand by them and support them. Like I've said who knows how many times, they're still people. Boys can like boys, boy can like girls, and girls can like girls. We're all the same, really. We're all people. You couldn't point a person out in the crowd and instantly guess they're homosexual. And does that really change them as a person? Does that really mean they become so foreign that you have to hurt them? No. They still have feelings and some have harmed themselves because of the hate they get. It's stupid and unnecessary. If they have those feelings and you happen to be homophobic, then please leave them alone.
Whether you're straight or homosexual, you're perfect they way you are. Don't ever change for society.
